Thanksgiving is a time of togetherness and gratitude and is each year celebrated at the American College of Norway with a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. This year's dinner brought together students, staff and faculty for a delicious meal, reminding us of the many things we have to be thankful for.

The evening started with mingling in the library before heading upstairs to dinner.

The dresscode of the evening was “dress to impress” which our fancy ACNers certainly did!

Both students and faculty took photos in front of the photo wall and noted down what they are thankful.

Classroom 1 had been transformed into a festive dinner venue in traditional Thanksgiving fashion by the hard working Activities Committee.

Executive Director Krista gave a warm welcome speech before Dr. John Ross told everyone about the story of Thanksgiving. After dinner, Dr. Tito Correa held a “Takk for maten” prayer.

The food was, as always, served by the talented culinary students from Kirkeparken videregående high school in Moss. Thank you for a delicious meal!

After dinner, students were divided into teams for the traditional Turkey Quiz to learn more about Thanksgiving.

To round up the evening, the Activities Committee had baked some delicious pumpkin pies that were enjoyed with cream.

Professor Lillian Correa read a poem for everyone, and Dr. Elaine Jenks held a speech and ended the evening with a toast. It was the first time that many of the students celebrated Thanksgiving and they were not disappointed. On their “thankful for” cards, one student wrote “I am thankful for everyone I met at ACN <3”. Another one wrote “new friends” and a third one wrote “the people I’ve met here”. The American College of Norway is thankful to everyone who contributed to this memorable evening filled with friendship, love and laughter. Certainly something to be thankful for.
