If you are inquiring about the TOEFL test at the American College of Norway, please read this update from the TOEFL Test Center Administrator in reference to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

I am the TOEFL test administrator in Moss. I am primarily responsible for administering the TOEFL test here in Moss. Based on the Norwegian government’s guidelines we will resume TOEFL testing here at the Moss TOEFL test center on Saturday, May 16th. All TOEFL tests after that date will also resume as scheduled so long as the current government guidelines remain in place or are relaxed further; should the guidelines become stricter in the future, tests may need to be postponed again. Please visit https://www.ets.org/s/cv/toefl/europe-middle-east-africa/ for ETS testing updates due to COVID-19.

The Moss test center will take appropriate precautions as recommended under the government guidelines. Such precaution include disinfecting equipment between testing sessions, providing hand sanitizer, social distancing and partitions between candidates, controlled entrance to the facilities to prevent crowding, etc. You are permitted to wear a mask and gloves during the test (except during the required check-in photo). Please follow the instructions of the test center staff and please be patient and note that the check-in process may take longer than usual in order maintain safety and social distancing. If you have any cold of flu like symptoms please do not show up at the test center, we reserve the right to refuse entry to any such individuals. ETS allows any COVID-19 related rescheduling for free.

At this time ETS is still temporarily offering the TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition test should you be concerned about testing at a test center. The test is identical in content, format and on-screen experience to the TOEFL iBT test taken at a test center. It is taken on your own computer at home and is monitored by a human proctor online through ProctorU. Please see here for details: https://www.ets.org/s/cv/toefl/at-home/

I am only responsible for the administration of the test. Information about changing or canceling your registration can be found here: https://www.ets.org/toefl/ibt/register/changes/, and any inquires should be made to ETS. Contact information can be found here: https://www.ets.org/toefl/contact.

I also recommend you contact you institutes of choice that require the TOEFL test and inquire if they plan to make any chances concerning deadlines for such results or any other related changes in response to the developments in relation to the Coronavirus.

Best regards,

Colin Solaas
