An evening to be thankful for

Thanksgiving is a time of togetherness and gratitude and is each year celebrated at the American College of Norway with a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. This year's dinner brought together students, staff and faculty for a delicious meal, reminding us of the many things we have to be thankful for.

A chat with summer school professor Dr. Tami Carmichael

A chat with visiting professor Dr. Elaine Jenks from West Chester University

Each semester, American College of Norway welcomes a faculty member from one of the partner universities in the US to come and teach in Moss. This semester, the visiting professor is no stranger to ACN. She taught here in 2019 and is delighted to be back in Norway after not having the opportunity to visit her beloved Scandinavia since before the pandemic. Meet Dr. Elaine Jenks, professor at West Chester University, and learn about why she enjoys being a professor, where her fascination with Northern Europe comes from, and her go to's in Norway (including where to get the best fish soup!).

A taste of the American college experience at Homecoming 2021

Homecoming Spirit Week is an important event at the beginning of each school year at American universities. It is a week filled with events and fun, where students get into the college spirit by enjoying different activities. This year's Homecoming Spirit Week at ACN consisted of theme days, a tennis table tournament, an American football game, and the annual Homecoming Dance.

Welcome Weekend 2021

Welcome Weekend at ACN is an annual tradition to welcome new students and to kickstart the school year.

Creative writing short story winner

In spring 2021, students enrolled in Creative Writing at ACN had the opportunity to participate in a Short Story Competition. The judges were impressed by all of the stories submitted, and finally (unanimously) settled on a winner: Jim Westgård's "Unit 1A docking to loading bay 4".

Haiku? What’s a haiku? – Creative writing – Spring 2021

Cooperative Education – Developing leadership skills

As we wrap up the Fall 2020 semester and near the end of the year, we can't thank our faculty and staff enough for working so diligently to prioritize safety while still delivering top-notch education and an active campus life. We couldn't be more proud of their efforts as well as the level of understanding and determination our students had to turn what could have been an uneventful semester into an unforgettable and rather memorable start to their American education!
